CAMP FACILITIES: WGDC is a 40 acre facility. Our cabins, Dining Hall, and Activity Barn, are air conditioned. Cabins have clean modern bathrooms and changing areas. We have 4 heated pools (2 with slides), a wading pool, basketball courts,softball and soccer fields, a 1 acre lake for boating and fishing, a challenge ropes course and much, much more!

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Watonka offers a program of Sciences, Sports and Adventure with a full range of waterfront, craft, woodwork, dirt-bikes, marksmanship and archery activities. Our facilities include modern cabins, eleven science buildings, great sports areas, private lake and one of the most extensive ropes adventure courses in the North East with a 50ft tower, 50ft wall, team building and two zip lines.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Classes will begin on Monday, July 9 and run weekdays through July 20. Morning sessions are available from 9 AM – 12:30 PM and Afternoon sessions from 1:30 PM – 5 PM. The last day of regular class (Friday) is a full day, morning and afternoon, for all students. The course will culminate in a student-showcasing recital on Saturday, July 21st.

Prior to March 31, 2018, The early registration fee for the 10 day course is $235. After March 31, 2018, the class registration fee is $255. This fee includes 2 free tickets to the July 21st recital. Class size is limited to 25 students per group.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At the YMCA, we do not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. The Y is a non-profit charitable organization that strengthens the foundations of our community. OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp Brandywine, located in Coatesville at the Brandywine YMCA provides campers who have completed kindergarten through 6th grade with a summer they'll never forget. Campers have an opportunity to make friends and participate in a variety of camp activities including arts & crafts, sports, free swim, field games, community service and weekly themed activities.

Camp Brandywine runs for 11 weeks from June 13 through August 26 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. Camp runs from 9 AM - 4 PM each day, aftercare is included in the price of camp. Before care is available for a nominal fee. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our CIT (Counselors-In-Training) program is offered for 16 & 17 year-olds. This program requires an application and interview. It is designed to introduce young people interested in becoming camp counselors to leadership skill-building, public speaking, program design and child development. This is a 2-week program. CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. Summit has a small amphitheatre adjacent to our lake, with a miraculous view of our beautiful setting where we enjoy swimming, canoeing, and riding our banana boats. Our camp resides on a gently rising hillside, thus providing us with the physical basis for our motto, "The Magic on the Hill."

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. It is our goal and desire to take our campers from observing peer interactions to engaging in them, to learn and celebrate their own strengths and successes, and to feel a sense of belonging and shared community with those around them while they are with us.

Our Teen Travel program extends the Summit community to provide a safe yet exciting adventure to one of our many attractive national and international destination tours offering 14 day and 19 day excursions. Summit Weekenders provide a youth-group style social retreat for adolescents to have an oasis of independence, enjoyment, and success during the school year months. Regardless of the specific program, Summit provides an expertly staffed, highly structured, and truly fun experience for our youth, and has been doing so since 1969. Summit is accredited by the American Camp Association and takes pride in our long term commitment to and successes in working with special needs youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Transitions to Adult Living Skills program for youth aged 15-19 provides learning and vocational opportunities for our teens. We also have vocational programs for upper camp including, big brother/big sister, waiter/waitressing, working in a specialty area or as UL assistant, photography, and more. Our SUPER TEEN program focuses on building the executive function and daily living skills OUR kids needs to succeed as independently as possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summit provides weekender programs in metropolitan areas throughout the country which run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-day that provide an oasis of social involvement for our youth. NY/NJ and DC/VA weekenders meet on a monthly basis.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Theatre Camp is the hallmark of Yes! And… Collaborative Arts Imagination Programming. We have been running these camps for over 15 years!

Yes! And… Collaborative Arts offers exciting, creative and transformative summer experiences for young people grades K-12. No previous theatre experience? No problem! Does your child not like to be in front of a group? No problem! Our programs dig into each child's imagination and awaken a sense of play and wonder. We explore dance, acting, music, visual arts and more in order to teach collaboration, working as a group, and building on each other's strengths.

Every camp culminates in an original performance. We can't tell you what they are, because your child is part of the writing and creating process! We can tell you that these showcases are exciting, celebratory, and always an adventure. Our Imagination Camps usually showcase on Friday at 3:30pm, after their day is done. Our Theatre Camps will usually showcase at the end of each week, also at 3:30pm. After either their 2 or 3 week thematic unit is done, they will put on a larger show on the Friday at 6pm. (Kids stay after camp for rehearsal and pizza!)

Yes! And... Collaborative Arts hand picks an incredible team of artists and educators each summer. Artist teachers prepare classes in acting, movement, visual arts and storytelling while Travelers are on hand to guide each tribe of kids throughout the day. High school students from our SHADOW Co. are also a part of the tribes as Junior Travelers. Staff hired by Yes! And... Collaborative Arts have trained in our Collaborative Arts Institute and have proper and up-to-date copies of child abuse and criminal record background checks. We retain many of our staff from previous years, so your child will get to know their favorites!

What happens when you put Goldilocks, Peter Pan, Rapunzel, and the Wicked Witch into a blender and turn it on? Probably a huge mess! Join us as we make and untangle these meeses by looking at old stories and creating something new. No story is safe in this fun camp session!

June 11-15: The Classics
To be or not to be… but we want you “to be” here to join us as we jump into Shakespeare! This one week intensive will focus on classical Shakespeare and the techniques and skills used to execute the classics. This week will end with a rousing olde-tyme showcase!

July 30 - August 3: Dance Exploration
Get ready to move! Work with our talented dance instructors to learn new skills and new dance forms while having TONS of fun. This one week intensive focuses on how we move our bodies and will end with a short showing of our new moves!

August 6-17: Elemental Force
Earth, Water, Wind, & Fire - The four elements may seem like complete opposites, but do they actually work together? Are they instead mortal enemies? We will jump into myth creation quick during this 2-week workshop.

Camp UMLY runs for 13 weeks from May 31 through August 26 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Cornerstone Leadership Camp is a continuation of our day camp program, but it begins to teach teens about leading and serving others, as modeled by Jesus in the Bible. Teens will have a daily schedule that includes time to serve others. They will work together on a project that benefits others, giving them a sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. They will also enjoy age-appropriate camp programs that reflect their interests and abilities. At the end of each week, we hope that teens have a bigger heart for serving others while developing the work ethic and good character necessary for tomorrow’s leaders.

Transportation for the day camp is provided to and from our Malvern campus and the camp property in Schwenksville. Families also may choose to drop off and pick up their campers at Camp Kweebec daily.

Families of overnight campers are responsible for transportation to the camp property on Sundays. Families may choose to pick overnight campers up at the camp property or at our Malvern, Pennsylvania campus on Fridays.

Summer L.I.F.E. offers low camper-to-staff ratio, experienced camp staff, ongoing behavior support, structured daily programming, engaging activities and real world learning. Staff includes PA certified special education teachers, a full-time nurse and behavioral support specialists.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Many, but not all, of our campers have been diagnosed with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome and have difficulty connecting with their peers. They deeply desire friendships, but due to difficulties with social interactions, spend much of their time feeling socially isolated and lonely.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Youth should plan to be online 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. weekdays, and to work ten additional hours per week on their projects. Most of the scheduled time is for projects but some of it will be for meetings.

Required equipment: A tablet or phone with a front-facing camera. A video camera or DSLR camera will also work.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Career Heroes 1-week day camp provides a vital and FUN opportunity for career exploration for middle and early high school age children (11-15).

The camp counselors are the Technical High School's program instructors who enjoy sharing their passion for their field with children and youth.

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety.
