Located on Camp Kweebec’s 200+ acres in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Summer L.I.F.E. offers campers with special needs the opportunity to cultivate friendships within the context of traditional camp activities, such as fishing, swimming, boating, arts and crafts, sports and games, cooking and environmental education.

Transportation for the day camp is provided to and from our Malvern campus and the camp property in Schwenksville. Families also may choose to drop off and pick up their campers at Camp Kweebec daily.

Families of overnight campers are responsible for transportation to the camp property on Sundays. Families may choose to pick overnight campers up at the camp property or at our Malvern, Pennsylvania campus on Fridays.

Summer L.I.F.E. offers low camper-to-staff ratio, experienced camp staff, ongoing behavior support, structured daily programming, engaging activities and real world learning. Staff includes PA certified special education teachers, a full-time nurse and behavioral support specialists.

These programs offer affordable, engaging opportunities for youth to develop independence, strengthen healthy relationships and broaden their recreational experiences in the real world while giving their families much-needed respite. OTHER CAMP INFO: Many, but not all, of our campers have been diagnosed with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome and have difficulty connecting with their peers. They deeply desire friendships, but due to difficulties with social interactions, spend much of their time feeling socially isolated and lonely.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership is the backbone to our program. To us, Leadership looks different for everyone. By building relationships, practicing open and honest communication, and empowered decision making. Our community values self-expression, compassion, cooperative leadership, and living joyfully.

Throughout every aspect of our program, campers and staff develop lifelong friends, indelible memories, and tangible skills. We grow leaders each summer who make lasting impacts on their communities, families, and the world.

Two aspects of our program that specifically are designed for intentional communication, empowered decision making, and relationship building include Crew and Group. Crew is the daily "chores" group that every camper participates in. This is anything from cooking breakfast, to cleaning the stalls and feeding the horses, to taking out the trash and recycling around camp. We do hard work, and then we get to play! Group is our evening program that is defined as "the part of Longacre that makes us unique". This is an intentionally facilitated communication workshop for all of our campers and staff. This is where we use communication tools and skills to better understand ourselves, others, and how we interact with the world.

Longacre Leadership Camp is a residential, co-ed summer camp located in Central Pennsylvania for students aged 8 - 18. We are located on a 114 acre farm 40 minutes north of Harrisburg and will be enjoying our 44th summer this year. Position dates are from June 14th - August 15th 2018.

We hire camp counselors, AKA Big Kids aged 21 and over who are passionate about working with young people and who are committed to building a community. We are looking for staff with a range of skills and expertise including, carpentry, horse riding, arts and crafts, animal husbandry, outdoor education and organic gardening. At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. CAMP FACILITIES: Our camp is located at Blue Mountain Resort nestled in the Pocono mountains. For residential campers we offer cabins that sleep 8-10 campers, a counselor, and a junior counselor. Located on a campus of nearly 175 acres, our facilities include: a new air conditioned alpine-styled dining room, a multi-purpose air conditioned indoor gymnasium and theatre, two baseball/ softball fields, eight tennis courts, two soccer fields, three basketball courts (lighted), a beach volleyball court, an extensive fine arts building that is air conditioned, computer lab with air conditioning, multi-stationed ropes/climbing wall course, horseback riding arena, lake, heated pool with dual water slides, hockey arena, circus and gymnastics pavilion, flying trapeze, skateboard park, and a Teepee village for overnight camp-outs.

Lindenmere campers choose both majors and minors to construct their perfect day. With over fifty electives to choose from and a team of dedicated specialty staff, we ensure the success and growth of all of our campers.

Majors are selected before the beginning of each session. They are instructional and goal oriented. Major programs often culminate in a performance or production. Athletic Majors participate in competitive events.

Minors are chosen daily. They are instructional or recreational. Minors allow campers to experience a diverse array of activities.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Camp Lindenmere’s Leadership Training Program is carefully designed to teach participants both life and camp related skills. The LT’s will participate in all of the traditional Lindenmere camp activities, and will often experience many of these activities in a leadership role.

The program is fun, dynamic and creative while offering the LT’s more freedom and responsibility than other campers. The LT’s have the opportunity to participate in regular camp activities as well as experiential learning activities designed to teach life skills.

As the oldest campers, the LT’s are considered the foundation of the Lindenmere experience. Each participant is considered a valuable part of our community and is eligible to become our future staff and leaders.

OTHER CAMP INFO: How many people in each bunk?
Each bunk houses 8-12 campers with two to three counselors. The cabins are equipped with modern conveniences such as full bath facilities, including hot and cold running water, ample electrical outlets and storage space for clothing.

When do the campers pick their activities?
Majors are chosen before campers arrive at camp. The three minors are chosen at breakfast each morning and may vary from day to day.

Do campers ever get turned away from an activity they choose?
Never. A full time program director spends the day working with each child's schedule.

How many people in each activity?
Sometimes a child chooses a private lesson which is one-on-one with an instructor. Most activities have between eight to twelve children.

How does the laundry work?
Every camper's laundry is done with an outside service and is collected on Friday and returned to the campers on Sunday. The laundry for each cabin is kept together and the children sort their laundry with the aid of their counselors upon its return.

Do you have a doctor in camp?
We have a doctor and three registered nurses during each session. Our infirmary is staffed twenty four hours per day.

Are campers put into bunks by age or grade?
Campers are usually grouped in cabins by grade. Sometimes parents will request a placement by age. If your child wants to bunk with friends, we almost always are able to work it out.
Any out of camp trips?

Children leave camp to compete in intercamp games or special events such as a day trip to Camelbeach, Dorney Park, whitewater rafting, ice skating, bowling, minor league baseball games.

Do campers need extra money?
Canteen is provided free of charge each day. A small amount of spending money is recommended for other incidentals.

Where do campers come from?
All over. We have large groups of children from the New York metropolitan area, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Florida, and California, but don't be surprised if you have a bunk mate from London, Paris, Madrid or Singapore.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Theatre Camp is the hallmark of Yes! And… Collaborative Arts Imagination Programming. We have been running these camps for over 15 years!

Yes! And… Collaborative Arts offers exciting, creative and transformative summer experiences for young people grades K-12. No previous theatre experience? No problem! Does your child not like to be in front of a group? No problem! Our programs dig into each child's imagination and awaken a sense of play and wonder. We explore dance, acting, music, visual arts and more in order to teach collaboration, working as a group, and building on each other's strengths.

Every camp culminates in an original performance. We can't tell you what they are, because your child is part of the writing and creating process! We can tell you that these showcases are exciting, celebratory, and always an adventure. Our Imagination Camps usually showcase on Friday at 3:30pm, after their day is done. Our Theatre Camps will usually showcase at the end of each week, also at 3:30pm. After either their 2 or 3 week thematic unit is done, they will put on a larger show on the Friday at 6pm. (Kids stay after camp for rehearsal and pizza!)

Yes! And... Collaborative Arts hand picks an incredible team of artists and educators each summer. Artist teachers prepare classes in acting, movement, visual arts and storytelling while Travelers are on hand to guide each tribe of kids throughout the day. High school students from our SHADOW Co. are also a part of the tribes as Junior Travelers. Staff hired by Yes! And... Collaborative Arts have trained in our Collaborative Arts Institute and have proper and up-to-date copies of child abuse and criminal record background checks. We retain many of our staff from previous years, so your child will get to know their favorites!

To be or not to be… but we want you “to be” here to join us as we jump into Shakespeare! This one week intensive will focus on classical Shakespeare and the techniques and skills used to execute the classics. This week will end with a rousing olde-tyme showcase!

Get ready to move! Work with our talented dance instructors to learn new skills and new dance forms while having TONS of fun. This one week intensive focuses on how we move our bodies and will end with a short showing of our new moves!

Earth, Water, Wind, & Fire - The four elements may seem like complete opposites, but do they actually work together? Are they instead mortal enemies? We will jump into myth creation quick during this 2-week workshop.

Classes will begin on Monday, July 9 and run weekdays through July 20. Morning sessions are available from 9 AM – 12:30 PM and Afternoon sessions from 1:30 PM – 5 PM. CAMP FACILITIES: Conshatawba is a Resident Camp that specializes in The Arts and Adventure. We have a ceramics and pottery program, arts and craft building, theater stage,pool, climbing rock wall and zip line, low ropes course, archery field and numerous sports fields. Conshatawba has beautiful lodges, platform tents, and cabins for lodging.Girls attend themed weeks of camp throughout the summer with this year's most popular sessions being a Percy Jackson session and a Hunger Games themed session. Conshatawba offers resident camping for girls ages 8-17 as well as family sessions.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Conshatawba has adventure programming specializing in backpacking trips. Conshatawba offers a 4 sided climbing tower and zipline. Conshatawba also focuses on the arts with an indoor theater and arts studio.

Our camps are staffed with activity specialists, a cook, a health supervisor and specialty staff for adventure programs. Staff members are carefully selected for their skills as well as how they work with children and adults. They participate in weeklong training sessions where they earn appropriate certifications. Camp Conshatawba offers programming for Girl Scouts to build girls of confidence, courage and character.

Camp CLenni Lenape runs for 11 weeks from June 13 through August 26 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. Summit has a small amphitheatre adjacent to our lake, with a miraculous view of our beautiful setting where we enjoy swimming, canoeing, and riding our banana boats. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. It is our goal and desire to take our campers from observing peer interactions to engaging in them, to learn and celebrate their own strengths and successes, and to feel a sense of belonging and shared community with those around them while they are with us.

Our Teen Travel program extends the Summit community to provide a safe yet exciting adventure to one of our many attractive national and international destination tours offering 14 day and 19 day excursions. Summit Weekenders provide a youth-group style social retreat for adolescents to have an oasis of independence, enjoyment, and success during the school year months. Regardless of the specific program, Summit provides an expertly staffed, highly structured, and truly fun experience for our youth, and has been doing so since 1969. Summit is accredited by the American Camp Association and takes pride in our long term commitment to and successes in working with special needs youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Transitions to Adult Living Skills program for youth aged 15-19 provides learning and vocational opportunities for our teens. We also have vocational programs for upper camp including, big brother/big sister, waiter/waitressing, working in a specialty area or as UL assistant, photography, and more. Our SUPER TEEN program focuses on building the executive function and daily living skills OUR kids needs to succeed as independently as possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summit provides weekender programs in metropolitan areas throughout the country which run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-day that provide an oasis of social involvement for our youth. NY/NJ and DC/VA weekenders meet on a monthly basis.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Summit has the following resident summer staff in addition to our dual layer of counselors and specialists. • Team of senior directorship including a Master's of Education, licensed social worker, counseling psychologist, and school psychologist. • On site Physician and group of RN's for excellent medication management and treatment on site. • Head counselor who has been a proud member of the Summit community since 1983. We pride ourselves on our ongoing support and training of our staff and our phenomenal return rate of excellent seasonal staff who help us orchestrate and bring the magic to our youth year after year.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
We would love to hear from interested applicants! We are looking for staff 20+ years of age. Counselors have prior experience working with our populations and are looking for a unique opportunity to develop skills and experience in the best setting, with the best supervision, available!

Our specialty teams include waterfront, arts, performing arts, adventure, nature, science, computers, athletics, and go-karting.

We are looking for specialty teachers that have experience leading youth and instructing others in their given area.
