CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Creative Drama Camp: Our most popular camp emphasizes the creativity, enjoyment, and personal growth of each child. Through drama games, movement, music, and vocal exercises, kids will explore self-expression and gain confidence. A final online showcase creates a comfortable and exciting opportunity to experience another important aspect of theater: performance!

Musical Theater Camp: Using a different, inspiring Broadway theme each session, campers will explore scenes, songs, and dance numbers. This flexible format allows us to create a very personal experience for our campers, helping them to grow and take on specific challenges. Each session will also include private instruction with our vocal director, to give kids some great one on one attention. We'll show off our new skills at a final Friday online performance!

CAMP FACILITIES: For the 1-week camp and the first 2 weeks of the 3-week camp, we meet at Cap21 Rehearsal Studios located at 18 W. 18 St, NYC. During the last week of camp, we move to the Under St Marks Theatre at 94 St. Marks Place (8th St) in the E Village for rehearsal and the final performance of the musical.

No auditions, just the desire to learn a favorite role from one of the great musicals such as Wizard of Oz or Annie and to perform it at an Off Broadway theatre.

We are proud that some CU Kids have gone on to Broadway (a student is now in the current Les Miz) and other theatrical ventures. And we are equally proud that ALL of our students continue to bring their musical theater skills into every aspect of their lives.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We also offer Tuesday Afterschool and Saturday Morning Programs during the Fall and Spring school semesters. They run every Tuesday for 12 weeks from 4-6pm and every Saturday for 12 weeks from 11am-1pm. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers reach Tanager by a three mile motor boat ride and sleep in tents by the lake shore and eat on open porches. We spend most of our days outdoors, while also enjoying activities in well-kept buildings and leantos built in traditional Adirondack style.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Since 1925 Tanager Lodge has remained small and personal. With no road access or electricity and set apart from the technological world, the setting is ideal for fostering children's appreciation of nature and their connection to it. Life in Tanager's diverse, close-knit interdependent community gives campers and staff a special opportunity to be a valued part of something greater than themselves, which in turn encourages personal growth. The high camper to staff ratio (nearly 2:1) allows girls and boys to develop lifelong outdoor skills. The children achieve their individualized goals in a supportive, noncompetitive environment.

CAMP FACILITIES: French Woods Sports and Arts Center features outstanding modern facilities that include a spacious multilevel dining room, heated pool, gymnasium, gymnastics center, fitness center, technology/communications center, recording studio, large theater, dance studio, rock music center, immaculate sports fields, 4 tennis courts, indoor and outdoor volleyball court, indoor and outdoor basketball court, a baseball diamond, archery range, a private lake, equestrian stables, 14 studios for classes and activities, an open air circus area, an advanced medical center, and two large Dormitory buildings (bunks) housing multiple suites that sleep 8 to 10 campers and counselors with en suite bathrooms, plus 3 additional bunk buildings. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: French Woods Sports and Arts Center provides the summer of a lifetime in a safe, supportive, supervised and age appropriate environment. Campers completely determine which activities they will participate in. Children are offered a wide range of activities that include sports, arts, technology, extreme sports, circus, rock music, electronic music, dance, water sports, DJ and radio, theater, communications, magic, cooking, role playing games, and equestrian. All that and more rolled up together into one incredible summer experience!

There are six activities per day, each one hour in length; three of these periods are called majors and three are called minors.

Majors are chosen at the beginning of each session and are maintained for two weeks. Minors are chosen daily at breakfast. This lets you concentrate on the things that interest you, while giving you the chance to try something new.

Empowering our campers to feel good about themselves and their accomplishments can increase motivation to try harder, try new activities, continues to build self-confidence, and achieve self-efficacy. The more you believe in your abilities, the more inclined you are to be motivated to attempt new things and become successful in those endeavors.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT Program: Campers who are entering the 11th and 12th grades have the option of participating in our two level Counselor In Training program. CAMP FACILITIES: Classroom and outdoor field trips to the park, market and restaurant.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Laurel Project program, designed for children, will encourage students to learn the Chinese culture and language in a creative and participatory environment. Instruction takes place both indoors and outdoors in the heart of Chinatown, surrounded by colorful shops, markets and wonderful restaurants. The objective is to engage students in an intimate and fun setting, to teach Mandarin Chinese as a vehicle for cultural self-expression, rather than present it as just another subject to study. During the summer, activities focus on simple Mandarin conversation, writing, songs and games.

Students will interact with fruit vendors, shopkeepers & waiters when we shop for fruits & vegetables in the markets, try out snacks, desserts & beverages in a teahouse, and order delicious food & dim sum in the restaurant. Lessons include counting, colors, fruits, vegetables, foods, snacks, desserts, beverages, clothes, how to use chopsticks, and Chinese restaurant etiquette. Laurel Project students will also learn how to make some simple Chinese dishes in the classroom. Outdoor activities include Chinese jump rope and other games in the park, plus shopping, museum and bookstore trips as well. *All outdoor activities will be accompanied by two adults *

Time to make a movie! Campers write, direct, film, and edit a short collaborative film in a professional environment. SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Summer Discovery is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and supportive leaders to join our on-campus team. Our staff members reside on campus, forming the core of our pre-college summer community. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Henry Day Camp functions out of 301 Henry Street, a community center with multiple multi-function rooms including a state of the art computer lab, a gym and a kitchen. We also access the surrounding athletic fields and courts for our athletic activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Henry Day Camp offers a wide range of co-educational and recreational enrichment activities. And, it's fun! CAMP FACILITIES: Our SUNY Purchase College location is a sprawling 500-acre campus located in the heart of beautiful Westchester County. It offers endless acres of playing fields, training areas, and 2 new floodlit turf, football, and baseball fields. As many as six full soccer fields, 12 short-sided fields, and NCAA regulation baseball and softball diamonds are expertly maintained for daily use. Facilities also include 14 newly-surfaced deco tennis courts (6 lighted), 3 full indoor, and 3 outdoor basketball courts.

Campers will also utilize 3 air-conditioned indoor gymnasiums, racquetball and squash courts, training rooms, an Olympic-size indoor swimming pool, a newly-renovated performance center, and a video analysis room.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) combines the fun of being a participant with important life skills such as leadership, personal development, teamwork, and communication, all under the watchful eyes of our experienced educators and coaches.

Working with guidance from our camp and program director(s), YLP participants will observe and assist in all aspects of the camp program and daily activities, while receiving performance feedback in a constructive environment, helping to build self-confidence and interpersonal skills.

CAMP FACILITIES: A professional 3/4 round theater with complete lighting and sound systems. Students learn all aspects of producing a full-length Shakespearean production. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Program participants can be day students or live on campus and enjoy a full schedule that provides recreational activities on weekends and afternoons. Since 1990, the Summer Program has successfully combined not only academic enrichment and remediation, but also new experiences, opportunities and fun.

Admissions: The Gow School has a rolling admissions policy for its Summer Program. Personal interviews and tours of the campus are given throughout the year. Academics: The Gow School Summer Academic Program is a challenging and stimulating learning environment which provides students the opportunity to improve their academic skills. With an average class size of five students and individual attention from teachers, students achieve success in areas they never thought possible. Florida Film Academy at Gow: During the Summer of 2015, The Gow School is pleased to offer a special afternoon Videography course presented by The Florida Film Academy. Classes will run from Monday, July 15th through Friday, July 19th from 2-5 pm.

Afternoon Activities: Each afternoon, Summer Program students participate in three Activity Instructional Clinics (AICs). AICs help students learn new skills and enjoy a full summer experience. During activity sessions, students are encouraged to participate to their level of comfort. Character building and teamwork abilities are emphasized. The AICs include traditional athletic activities such as basketball and capture the flag, along with non-traditional sports such as crab soccer and tennis softball. Other activities may include arts & crafts, hiking and biking. Specialized sessions such as archery and the low ropes courses are coached by trained supervisors.

Weekend Trips: Weekend trips are one of the many highlights of The Gow School Summer Program. Three overnight excursions are taken during the summer. These trips are not only fun and exciting, but also culturally and educationally rewarding. CAMP FACILITIES: Silver Lake is a picturesque camp, situated on over 300 acres of rolling green hills with a 96-acre private lake. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Michael and Shari Baer, owners of Camp Chipinaw, established Silver Lake in 2004 as a session camp that allowed campers to attend for 3, 4, or 7 weeks. Silver Lake incorporates all of the traditions, activities, and spirit of Chipinaw… but does it twice each summer! Camp SAY was established with one goal in mind – to provide children who stutter with a highly immersive and accepting summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps children develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves without fear, bullying or ridicule.

Complementing our wide range of exciting traditional camp activities, Camp SAY provides each child with unique experiences that challenge them in a safe way, creating a strong sense of achievement and helping them confidently navigate the unique issues that children who stutter face in the everyday world.

STAFF
The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice. Approximately 80% of children return to camp. Parents and campers tell us it’s our staff and unique approach that consistently exceed expectations, making Camp SAY such a rewarding and transformative experience.

We provide an excellent Staff-to-Camper Ratio: With Camp’s leadership team, camp counselors, specialized activities staff and more, our staff-to-camper ratio is 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 counselors for an average of 6-10 campers.

Counselors complete a comprehensive training program to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all our campers. SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Our summer camp is only as good as the staff it hires. That is why we search the globe for the most experienced and enthusiastic staff members we can find. From England to Australia and California to Maine, our staff consists of about fifteen different nations and over twenty states. Everyone comes together with one goal in mind; to make sure our campers have the best summer of their lives!

We are looking for general counselors, specialist counselors, leadership positions, and support staff for the upcoming summer. General counselors spend the day with their division of campers; guiding, supporting, and supervising them as they go from activity to activity.

As a specialist, you concentrate on a specific area, passing on your knowledge to our campers to ensure they are learning or mastering that skill. The leadership roles we fill each summer range from department heads and group leaders to medical staff and office assistants. Lastly, our support staff members work behind the scenes as kitchen staff, maintenance workers, groundskeepers, and housekeepers to ensure the day to day operations of camp are handled.

Generally, most of our counselors are aged between nineteen and twenty-five, while our leadership staff are over twenty-five and have worked their way up the camp ladder. For a complete list, view our staff positions.

CAMP FACILITIES: We are located on the grounds of an old mansion turned independent school in St.James, NY. Our campus includes over 11 acres of fields and playgrounds, a pool, and outdoor classroom pond center. Our building includes many air conditioned classrooms used for activities and classes throughout the day.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The majority of our camp staff is chosen from graduates of our two year CIT program for students entering 9th and 10th grades. 9th Graders are placed in groups and learn how to manage the campers, the schedule, and the various trials and tribulations of any job. They also take a weekly class with our CIT coordinator. Those CIT's entering 10th grade enjoy added responsibility and leadership opportunities and have a weekly class with the Director of Summer Programs, during which they learn job skills such as resume building, interview skills, and public speaking.

All CIT's receive certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Babysitting through the Red Cross.

CAMP FACILITIES: Programs take place on Sarah Lawrence College's beautiful campus in Bronxville, New York, just north of New York City. Students have access to the college library, modern art studios, science labs, and classroom and workshop spaces, along with performance and rehearsal areas for theatre programs. Residential students live on campus, while local students can commute daily. Small seminar-style classrooms support hands-on, project-based learning, and some courses include fieldwork.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Sarah Lawrence College's Precollege Programs give curious, creative high school students a chance to explore advanced ideas, deepen their voice, and experience college-level work. Courses are taught by Sarah Lawrence faculty, graduate students, and guest experts in the small-group seminar model the College is known for, with project-based, hands-on learning, including labs, studio work, workshops, rehearsals, fieldwork, and one-on-one mentoring.

Writers Week: An immersive week of creative writing and performance arts, offered in person and virtually each summer. Participants can earn one transferable college credit.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Programs available to teens, ages 14-17, include Filmmaking, Acting for Film, 3D Animation, Game Design. Screenwriting, Photography, Musical Theatre, Broadcast Journalism, Music Video, Documentary Filmmaking, and Graphic Design, spanning from 1 to 6 weeks in length.

Programs available to kids, ages 10-13, include Filmmaking, Acting for Film, Musical Theatre, Photography, 3D Animation, and Game Design. Kids programs are offered in 1 or 2-week camps throughout the summer season. All programs are coed. Room and board is an additional fee for teen programs. Housing is not provided for kids camps. CAMP FACILITIES: The New York Kids Club is New York's premier children's enrichment center, renowned for creative and innovative kids classes, day camps, birthday celebrations, and special events! Our unique and original curricula provide children the opportunity to build confidence and express their individuality through participation in physically challenging, artistically enriching, and intellectually stimulating programs.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Join the NY Kids Club for an unforgettable summer of Olympic games! Children will celebrate the cultures of the world with our 2016 Summer Olympics-themed Adventure Camp! Our globe-trotting campers will flex their physical and creative muscles as they learn about the countries of the world while getting the best of everything the NY Kids Club has to offer: art, dance, sports, music, gymnastics, chess, science and karate.

Registration is available on a week-by-week basis, 2, 3 or 5 days per week, from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (9:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. at select locations).

Summer Camp is an independent participation program, and all children need to have participated in a previous drop-off program.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: New York Kids Club offers year-round creative and innovative kids classes, day camps, birthday celebrations, and special events! Additionally, our affiliated programs at New York Preschool are a leading preschool choice for the years leading up to Kindergarten.

CAMP FACILITIES: Professional Broadway Rehearsal Studio

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: On Wednesday, participants also see a Broadway Matinee and have a “Talk Back” with actors after the show!

Pre-Professional Program faculty include Broadway Theatre Actors and Industry Professionals interested in sharing their methods and insights with those seeking to expand their craft and explore their creative expression.

A combination of classroom work and individualized private instruction will provide participants with a unique week-long experience.

Focus of Summer Intensive:
• Private Voice Lessons
• Musical Theatre Audition Technique
• Dance Workshop
• Group Rehearsal for the Final Showcase

This camp ends in a Final Showcase for industry professionals, including talent representatives and casting professionals. The performance is designed to showcase the skills and challenging material students have mastered throughout the week

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a pool, pond for boating and fishing, horses and many skilled based activities, trails for hiking, 4 traditional cabins, 3 log cabins, 2 building with 3 living units in each. See website for more info.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our skill based activity programs helps campers to grow individually.

Campers can earn awards from Red cross swimming, NRA rifle, USA archery as well as a certificate in any activity area they choose. We have a broad range to cover many interests from crafts to creative arts to outdoor skills to target sport and horseback riding.

We have a one week outdoor adventure for girls-sleeping out in tents on our wooded property, cooking over the campfire while still being able to enjoy some activities in main camp.

OTHER CAMP INFO: We are accredited by ACA and a member of CCCA. We are the camping ministry of Pioneer clubs. We have a low staff to camper ratio of 1:3 and every camper is important to us. We have small group Bible studies that are age appropriate and a campfire each evening.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Sessions are for one week or 2 weeks beginning on July 7 and ending August 10th 2013. A basic week long (6 nights) session is $295.
