CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Pok-O-MacCready Camps is one of the oldest summer camps in the world. In fact, our boys’ camp is the oldest in the United States having been privately owned and operated by the same family since its establishment in 1905. In 1967 our current director, Jack Swan, saw the need for a summer camp for girls and opened Camp MacCready. We are now one big family, combining our names to “Pok-O-MacCready” and operating as a traditional residential Adirondack summer camp for boys and girls ages six to sixteen.

Summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore! Want to experience camp for yourself and wrap it up into an inexpensive family vacation? Maybe you and your children are just curious to see what Pok-O-MacCready is all about, but you’re not quite ready to take the plunge with an entire summer. It’s true! Many of our campers choose to stay for all seven weeks of the summer. Staying for the whole season really allows campers to hone their skills in their class areas, go on more wilderness trips, and means they won’t miss out on any of the big summer camp events! In addition, 7-weekers get to enjoy special events in between the 4-week and 3-week session break such as Beach Day and a day trip to the Great Escape amusement park. Some campers choose to register for the first 4 weeks, and then decide later to upgrade to the full 7-week session, and that’s just fine by us. If you’re unsure whether your camper would like to be a 4-weeker or a 7-weeker, don’t worry…it only takes a mouse-click for us to change a 4-weeker to a 7-weeker. Feel free to discuss that option with your child if you think they could benefit from a longer session!

4-WEEK SESSION JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 29, 2019 Standard Rate: $6,400
The first half of the summer consists of our 4-week overnight program. The 4-week session allows campers to learn new skills and take part in a variety of classes. The session includes many themed events which lead up to our “Color Wars”, in which campers don their colors of Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, or Green and see which team will come out on top: these games have been a camper favorite for decades!

For the first two weeks of the 4-Week session, we run a two week “Rookie Camp” for first-time campers between the ages of 6 to 9 years old. We feel this short session is a good bite-sized introduction to summer camp, and also allows campers the flexibility to stay on for the remainder of the 4-week session if they get bitten by the “summer camp bug” and want to stay longer!

3-WEEK SESSION (Overnight) JULY 31, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $4,600

The 3-Week session offers two options to campers: a traditional overnight summer camp program, or a day-camp option. The 3-Week session is full of fun classes Mondays – Fridays, with special events planned on the weekends. It’s also the session in which our famous GREEK GAMES take place, as well as some of our campers’ all-time favorite camp events like the “Pok-O-Palooza” music festival, the Jack’s Cup sailing race, Casino Night, and the Pok-O County Fair.

3-WEEK SESSION (Day Camp)* JULY 21, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $2,100 for a first-time camper.

Our day campers attend camp from approximately 9am to about 5pm Mondays through Fridays. Just like overnight campers, they get to create their own class schedule from a list of over 30 program offerings. They are, of course, assigned to a cabin and counselor and have their own bunks so they have a comfortable spot to relax during Rest Hour. Day campers also have the option of staying the night for an evening activity or program if they wish, and we can easily make those arrangements, although a small fee may apply. They also have the added bonus of being able to stay overnight the last week of camp for no additional fee!

CAMP FACILITIES: Six camper villages with cabins, lake for boating & swimming, athletic fields, volleyball & basketball courts, archery range, high ropes course, water trampoline, program buildings for fine and performing arts, dining pavilion, hiking trails.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our facilities bring a little rustic charm to the camping experience. We embrace our location in the Adirondacks, and cherish the beauty if the outdoors in all that we do. Our campers stay in cabins until grade 8 and in platform tents through high school. We have a fabulous lake for swimming, boating and enjoying our water trampoline and slide. Campers who want to try new activities can have a try at our 30 ft high rock wall, our trapeze, or our zip line.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: One of the greatest programs at Camp Cedarbrook is our wilderness adventure trips, where campers can hike or canoe the great spacious outdoors the Adirondacks have to offer. Our trip programs challenge girls to push the limits of their physical abilities and have a great time doing it. Girls in high school can also take part in our Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)program or our Camper in Leadership Training (CILT) program. Over a span of two summers, girls will learn to lead and guide young campers. The program is an opportunity for teens to learn responsibility, leadership and hard work.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership and Education Development (LEAD) and CILT (Campers in Leadership Training) are both a one summer leadership development program for high school girls. LEAD is first and for those wanting more training they can continue with CILT. There is an emphasis on supervised leadership training in a camp setting. It includes class sessions, Bible study, a wilderness trip, and lots of hands-on experience in leading girls. This program is for those interested in serving God and others through a leadership role.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Addisone Boyce (CAB) provides experiences that will build lasting relationships and memories. Embark on a journey that will guide you towards a greater sense of self-esteem, courage, confidence, and character. Community—The overarching “C”. The ultimate key to building peace is being able to coexist with those around you, and to build a functional community where issues are raised and resolved in a constructive manner.

Confidence Building—The basic “C”. You have to be able to accept yourself, and be happy with who you are in order to feel an essential part of building a peaceful community.

Conflict Resolution—The tough “C”. The most difficult aspect of working with others is resolving problems that arise in a manner that is beneficial for all involved. It is possible to easily find temporary solutions, but this is only the first step to conflict resolution. For true peacebuilding, one must also know how to find solutions that are sustainable, meets the needs of the community, and take into account the often numerous factors that contributed to causing and perpetuating the conflict.

Collaboration—The cooperative “C”. No community exists in a bubble, and it is important that members feel invested in working together and finding sustainable solutions. Without collaboration, solutions are only temporary.

Creativity—The innovative “C”. Sometimes, we need to think outside the box and use our imaginations to solve conflicts that arise. We have to be open to the ideas of others to make everyone feel comfortable.

Cookies—The fun “C”. One of our strongest beliefs is that the more enjoyable it is to be a part of a community, the more people are going to want to be involved in sustaining it. People must feel like they are having fun in order to be invested in solving conflicts and building a peaceful, equitable society.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 1968, the GO Project has a long history of serving public school children that are struggling academically. The GO Project currently serves 722 students in grades K-8 through our summer (GO Summer) and school year program (GO School). Unique to the GO Project model is the partnership we have developed with independent schools in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. These schools donate space and resources to the GO Project to enable us to operate our programs in a cost efficient manner. Enrichment Coordinator - Each afternoon during the summer, GO Project provides students with a variety of art and movement experiences that intentionally complement and support the morning academic periods. The GO Project is seeking Enrichment Coordinators to oversee the implementation of high quality enrichment programs with our elementary school students. Coordinators will directly supervise 5-10 Activity Specialists and act as a campus leader for one of four sites.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Improv Intensive classes are designed for students 12-17 with or without prior theatre or improv experience. Students will have the opportunity to explore their abilities as performers, improve self-confidence, and just have fun. They will learn techniques of improv with some on New York�s finest improv performers, creating material from their own experience and outside suggestions, to be exhibited on the final day of class in a performance for family and friends.

Chicago City Limits is a New York institution, having won awards and the respect of the comedy and theatre communities for many years. All instructors have wide experience teaching children and teens in schools, camps, and private institutions.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Yomawha features beautiful woodlands, a mountain stream, a lake for boating, private swimming pool, climbing wall, state-of-the-art playground and various athletic fields. In this country-like setting, campers ages 5 to 15 enjoy use of the swimming pool and private lockers dedicated to the Y, with instruction in the morning and free swim in the afternoon.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The mission of the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy is to provide a creative and supportive environment for young adults to grow as musicians and people. We offer many different different sports--and countless ways for your child to grow. The camps range from soccer to baseball to our popular mulit-sport camps where kids sample three different sports (soccer, basketball and baseball) in one camp.

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

ADVENTURE CAMP (ages 12-15): July 26th – August 7th 2015 $1190 per two-week session (Early Bird $995 before March 1st) OR NEW July 26th - August 14th 2015 $1495 per three-week session (Early Bird $1295 before March 1st) A two-week or three-week camp program for middle school youth to enjoy a place apart from the busy world and to experience God’s love through nature, community, and challenge. DAY CAMP: July 7th – August 14th 2015: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm $250 per five-day session (must register in five-day session periods) A new Christian Day Camp for campers ages 7 – 14 to be able to enjoy God’s creation in the outdoor beach setting and make new friendships in a safe community. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Bonjour NY is a French immersion summer camp located in the heart of New York City. We offer weekly registration from 1 to 9 weeks. Bonjour NY was elected "best camp attended in NY" by our families, is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a NYC licensed.

Our campers spend a lot of time outdoors playing sports, water games, swimming, going out on fun trips to local farms, making bread at local French bakeries.... The staff engages in French only with the campers through live games, songs, arts...

Our staff is fluent in French and comes from all over the world. All staff members are fully trained by Bonjour NY and many are also certified in Advanced First Aid, CPR for the Professional rescuers, lifeguarding...Everybody is carefully selected and a full background check is done on all employees. May of us are teachers and certified educators.

Students leave campus only for planned and chaperoned outings, which may include going to a Broadway show or visiting NYC and LA tourist destinations.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Jacobson is an accredited day camp (ACA) located on 15 acres on Long Island, NY. CAMP FACILITIES: Founded in 2001, the JBFC shows hundreds of films each year in our five-screen art house theater and pioneers a unique, hands-on approach to media literacy at our Media Arts Lab across the street. Play, make, and explore with a range of cutting-edge technology in our state-of-the-art production spaces, including a sound stage, recording studio, screening room, editing suites, computer labs, and numerous shooting and production spaces. All sessions are held at the Media Arts Lab with occasional visits to the JBFC Theater just down the street, or into the village with supervision.

Learn about media from the inside out through the JBFC’s Viewing & Doing program! Learn to watch feature films the way a director does (and write reviews!) and explore a different type of media—including animation, film, sound, and gaming—each day. On the Set
Time to make a movie! Campers write, direct, film, and edit a short collaborative film in a professional environment. Working in a group, you’ll learn to pitch and develop ideas, storyboard, design light and sound, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This filmmaking immersion is an opportunity to see a short project through from concept to completion.

CAMP FACILITIES: Swimming Pool, Frog Pond, Butterfly Garden, Greenhouse, Lake, Rowboarting, Fishing, High/Low ropes course, basketball court, archery range, seasonal and winterized accomodations that can sleep 300 during the summer at 100 during the winter.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Troop Camping
Troop leaders may take their girls camping for a weekend to Camp Kaufmann from September- May. Troop camping is a weekend event up to 72 hours in duration, planned and carried out by a troop at camp. The troop leaders reserve the housing and plan for meals and activities.

For any camping trip, the troop must have on certified first-aid and cpr certified adult for each group up to 44 campers. Each house or unit must have its own first aid/cpr certified adult. If you plan to use a fireplace, fire ring or seasonal unit, you need a camp certified adult (see training section). If you are staying in a lake house and do not plan on using a fire place or pit, then you will only need an adult who has taken the Overnight Adventures and Beyond training. Transportation is not provided for these weekends.

Outdoor Classrooms for Troop Camping
Troops can choose to enhance their experience by hiring one of our experienced counselors to run a specific activity for them. You will notice that there are different classrooms based on the season and they include different prices and lengths. New this year, we are introducing program patches for each of these classrooms. If this is your first time participating in these programs you will want to purchase a base patch for each of your girls. They are available at our camp trading post for $8.50 each. They will receive a free patch at the end of each of their outdoor classrooms, which can velcro onto the base patch!

“Do-It-Yourself” Programs in a Box for Troop Camping
Troops can choose to enhance their experience by renting a program in a box for the weekend. Each season features different boxes. These boxes include all of the programs you will need for the weekend including earned badges for the group.

Special Events
These events are open to all ages. We provide the troop with all of the activities, food and supplies for the weekend. The food and menu will be provided for each troop. The troop will prepare their meal and will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves. We always include a SWAP making station and actual swapping time, so girls can get to know girls from other troops during these weekends. Transportation is not provided for these events.

Girl-Only Weekends
This is an independent experience for older girls. Girls come without their leaders or moms and meet girls from other troops. The girls are provided everything including: programming, transportation, food, experienced counselors and more. Girls work towards specific badges and Journeys.

Day Trips
Girls can enjoy these trips with their moms or with their whole troop (sometimes even their families). These programs are great way for girls to enjoy camp for the first time! All of the programming, supplies and food are provided. Transportation is not.

Summer Weekends
Spend summer weekends swimming, fishing, boating, and having a great time. Come prepared to meet new people and have amazing experiences.

Mini Sleep-Away
If you’re between the ages of 9 and 17, come away with us to sleep-away camp where we’ll help you learn to climb a tree and build your confidence. Sleep-Away Adventure Camp offers girls the chance to experience a world of adventure and discovery. Girls will spend their days learning leadership skills, making friends, and sharing the excitement of going away with other girls.

Encampments
Camping events organized and operated by Troop Camp-certified adult volunteers from a geographic subdivision of the council (i.e. a borough or service unit) in which several troops participate. The program is planned and implemented by volunteers; some of the planning and scheduling may be done by the individual troops.

CAMP FACILITIES: The 443-acre property boasts beautiful wilderness, an 80-acre private and pristine lake, a mountaintop (Putnam Mountain), miles of mountain streams, an historic iron smelting furnace, and complete camp facilities. Main camp includes rustic buildings housing our camp office, staff house, infirmary, and dining hall. The camp units have unit houses, platform tents, and outhouses with outdoor Bradley sinks, including one unit with rustic cabins. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers are grouped by similar age and discover their strengths and unique voices as we support them through the transition to adulthood. Little Notch connects girls of diverse backgrounds with each other, positive mentors, and the land. We provide opportunities to develop responsibility, resourcefulness, wellness, creativity, and teamwork skills. Activities include swimming, canoeing, sailing, team building, ropes course, yoga, creek walks, wildlife observation, hiking, outdoor cooking, arts and crafts, music, overnight camp-outs, and so much more!

All of our activities are opportunities for campers to practice living in harmony with nature, each other, and themselves. Guided by their counselors, campers choose from a wide variety of group-planned activities, which allow for skill development and personal challenge in a safe and fun environment. Unless noted, all campers are eligible to participate in these activities, though not all activities are offered every day. Camp activities include swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing*, hiking, cookouts, land stewardship, campfires, creek-walking, tie-dyeing, drawing, beading, singing, ropes course, journaling, meditation, overnight camp-outs...and more.

We strive to bring together a diverse staff. They are selected for their strong leadership, problem solving skills, love of working with children, ability to model our mission, and a passion for the outdoors. All applicants are thoroughly screened and participate in comprehensive pre-camp training and orientation. The ratio of counselors to campers is one counselor to every six campers ages 7 and 8, and one counselor to every eight campers age 9 and above. All Camp Little Notch staff are certified in first aid. Waterfront and boating staff are certified lifeguards and ropes course staff are certified in belay. A registered nurse, or other licensed medical professional, oversees the health and safety of campers and staff on site.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Campers start their morning at 7:30 am giving them time to dress and any personal care before going to the dining hall to enjoy breakfast. At all meals, the campers, staff and volunteers work together to set the table, serve the food family style, and end the meal by cleaning and putting away the dishes. After breakfast, "kapers" are next. Kapers are community responsibilities throughout the camp. The campers then enjoy many fun-filled, camper-planned activities. The campers enjoy staying busy throughout the morning with programs such as hiking, boating, swimming, games, and arts & crafts. Lunch is at 12:30 pm, followed by a busy afternoon of more activities and "me-time" (personal time) before dinner at 6:00 pm. The girls then go to "Singing Logs" to enjoy learning new songs while building fond memories with friends and counselors. Each day ends with evening program time and campfires before bedtime at 9:00 pm.
