CAMP FACILITIES: Many of the facilities in our historic 110 year old camp have recently (10 years) been updated. They include a dining hall and kitchen, craft house, boat house, medical facility, and eight of the fourteen camper cabins. The oldest building in camp is our historic Lodge, used for shows and group gatherings. The 200 acre natural lake provides a beautiful and functional setting for all our aquatic activities. Camp also includes a climbing wall, tennis courts, a volleyball court, field, archery range, campcraft area, nature/ecology area, and a 500 acre preserved area used for hiking and mountain biking.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our aquatic program is extensive, taking advantage of our location on a beautiful, 200 acre, natural, mountain lake. Water skiing, swimming, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, water trampoline, and more occur on the lake. 80-90% of our staff, on average, are trained in Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid. Our boat drivers are required to have a Pennsylvania boating safety license and are screened in our boats.

Older campers may take whitewater canoe trips on the Delaware River and/or a four-day lake canoeing trip to the Adirondacks. Other trips include hiking on the Appalachian Trail, Loyalsock Trail (World's End State Park), Rickett's Glen State Park, Hickory Run State Park, and local trips to the blueberry farm, mill pond, and a local camping spot.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Stone Mountain Adventures is a co-ed residential camp for 60 teenagers ages 12-16 located in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. We are a very active summer community and do a good job of getting campers excited about all aspects of camp from our adventure and sport activities to going roller skating to going white water rafting together as a group. As with many aspects of teenagers lives our camp is also a very social place and we work hard to model and encourage positive relationships, create community in an authentic way, stop cliques from developing, and take away many of the traditional pressures that teens feel in school. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Penn State Abington's Kids and Teen College offers fun, enriching, and educational week-long programs for students entering grades 3 through 12. HCA’s Adventurers’ Camp kicks into high gear on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons! Each week a special project will expose our campers to a new skill and expand their horizons. One week they might be cooking for the homeless, the next week they might be learning Carpentry 101! No matter what, our goal is to make sure that they have fun.

HCA’s Nursery 2 and Nursery 3 staff enjoys working with young children and the plans for HCA’s Summer Nursery Camp 2014 program include crafts, swimming, art, songs, stories, play, gym, science, cooking, and much more.

Katerina Romanenko, Ph.D. Assistant Director of Youth and Family Programs

An experienced educator and visual culture historian, Dr. Romanenko specializes in Museum education, art history, American History, and object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York and for more than 15 years teaches art history and works in Museum education. She also holds a BA in Education Sciences and has experience in research, development and implementation of educational programs for different age groups.

Alicia Mino, Art Educator, Manager of the School and Community Programs

An accomplished practicing artists and art educator, Alicia Mino received her Master’s in visual communication from the Metropolitan University of Chile, She spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. She presented in numerous art exhibitions and founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008 Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teaches art.

Lindsey Murphy, Art Educator and K-8 Program Coordinator

An art educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education, Lindsey Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology; concentration in Archaeology from Millersville University, and an Elementary Teaching Certification from Millersville University. She worked as a general education classroom teacher in the Oxford Area School District in Chester County, PA for 8 years, and has worked in PAFA’s education department over the past 11 years creating and implementing numerous museum tours and art making experiences for children and families of all backgrounds, becoming the K-8 Program Coordinator in 2019..

Melissa Hendrixson, Art Educator

Melissa Hendrixson is an artist and art educator who has worked in Museum Education for over five years. She has her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Studio Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has gained experience through assisting the coordination and development of various museum programming including family programs, youth art classes, and summer camps. She now works for the School and Community Partnership Program as an art educator where she develops and implements museum tours, school lessons, and community outreach programs to support student learning, parental engagement and visual literacy initiatives.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 3 outdoor riding arenas with jumping courses, access to an outdoor pool, stables with stalls for 45 horses, an arts & crafts room, changing room and a seperate lunch/activity room.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The day camp at Ashford Farm in suburban Philadelphia is for children ages 6 to 14 who are interested in learning the correct basics of horsemanship and riding in an atmosphere designed for both safety and fun.

In addition to daily riding and horse care instruction, camp activities include arts and crafts, swimming and outdoor games. The program also features a camp picnic, field trips, a sleepover, a camp horse show and Parents Day.

Our enrollment is limited to 40. Beginner, intermediate and advanced groups are formed according to riding ability.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Galil is set in the beautiful fields and forests of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, about one hour from both Philadelphia, New York City, and most New Jersey addresses.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Perkiomen School offers a wide array of playing fields and outdoor athletic facilities such as tennis and basketball courts. An indoor, competition size swimming pool, multiple gyms and top notch art facilities are just a few of the indoor highlights. When it's time for bed, campers will enjoy the comfort of their bedrooms which feature closets, dressers and desks. Bad weather is no problem at Camp Sequoia thanks to our amazing facilities. Longacre Leadership Camp is a residential, co-ed summer camp located in Central Pennsylvania for students aged 8 - 18. We are located on a 114 acre farm 40 minutes north of Harrisburg and will be enjoying our 44th summer this year. Position dates are from June 14th - August 15th 2018.

We hire camp counselors, AKA Big Kids aged 21 and over who are passionate about working with young people and who are committed to building a community. The Handwork Studio LLC is a kids' needle arts and fashion studio and camp. Our purpose is to pass down the tradition of teaching practical arts such as knitting, crocheting, hand and machine sewing, embroidery, quilting, fashion and crafts in a fun and relaxed environment.

Our staff is comprised of professional artists, instructors and skilled teachers, dedicated to making each student feel special. Our teaching philosophy is one that focuses on the students’ accomplishments. We will never criticize the student's work, but praise his or her efforts.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
If you believe a job is to inspire and create, smiles are a part of the uniform and don't mind occasionally getting tangled in thread we need to talk! The Handwork Studio is on the search for that ‘needle in a haystack’ to help us forge ahead on our mission to educate children in the needle-arts.

Qualified Candidates Must:
-- Be passionate, warm, caring and ultimately a happy person that will bring excitement to the classroom
-- Be high energy; able to sit on the floor and/or stand for an extended period of time
-- Enjoy crafting in one or more of the following skills: knitting, crocheting, machine and hand sewing, embroidery, etc. You do not need to be an expert. We will train you on our methods.
-- Enjoy working with children between the ages of 5-16 years
-- Possess infinite patience
-- Be neat and organized
-- Be willing to work generally Monday-Fridays (approx. 8:30-3:30) during the months of June, July and August. This schedule can vary slightly based on program and geographic location.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Every week at Nawakwa (weather permitting) begins and ends with worship at one of our beautiful outdoor worship areas; Upper Temple, Fischer Chapel or Bishop Chapel. Community living takes place everyday through Bible Study, worship, recreation, crafts, and nature study.

Our caring staff is here to guide children as they explore God's creation and their relationship in it. Campers are given the opportunity to choose how part of their week will go. Being part of a Lutheran Christian community has helped many campers grow - in their personal faith, in their self-confidence, and in their interactions with others.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At the YMCA, we do not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. The Y is a non-profit charitable organization that strengthens the foundations of our community. Thanks to donations to the Y's Annual Campaign, we can offer financial assistance to those unable to pay the standard fees.*

Anyone is invited to apply for an income-based YMCA membership or financial assistance. Those receiving income-based memberships are also eligible to receive discounted rates for programming, including camp!

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp Leo, located in Exton at the Church Farm School provides campers who have completed kindergarten through 8th grade with a summer they'll never forget. Campers have an opportunity to make friends and participate in a variety of camp activities including: arts & crafts, sports, free swim, field games, community service and weekly themed activities.

Camp Leo runs for 11 weeks from June 13 through August 26 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. Camp Leo also runs a STEAM specialty camp. Camp runs from 9 AM - 4 PM each day, aftercare is included in the price of camp. Before care is available for a nominal fee. CAMP FACILITIES: The Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena (PISA) is a 98,000 sq ft indoor sports and entertainment arena that houses 3 fields of Revolution Field Turf.
