CAMP PROGRAM INFO:

Our Summer Conservatory Programs are week-long (5 day) programs that focus on one or two specific arenas of theatrical craft and artistry, such as acting, singing, dance and/or improv and provide students a chance to focus more specifically on areas they want to improve and excel in or gain a footing in (such as in our Beginner's Musical Theatre Conservatory).

Our Summer Musical Theatre Intensives, which are divided into three-week (15 day) programs comprised of three options: Intensive I (Ages 10-16, Intensive 2 (Ages 13-18), and a condensed Intensive I (8 Day option - Ages 10-16). These intensives focus on the application of theatrical craft and artistry in all major arenas of performance: improv, acting, dance, and voice. Participation in one of our conservatories is a great chance for students to demonstrate their talent on a grand scale, and allows them to develop at their own pace in a supportive and constructive environment , working on material that is age and skill appropriate, while affording students a chance to also push and test the boundary of what they think is possible to help them unlock their hidden potentials.

CAMP FACILITIES: Each camp has its own waterfront with a fleet of canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and paddle boats that offers a wide variety of waterfront activities. Athletic facilities include a blacktop area, 2 sports fields, an archery range, rock climbing wall (real rock!), and challenge course. For indoor activities, each camp has a recreation hall and an arts and crafts cabin.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Hoover has a large, modern dining hall, three cabins, five tent sites, a primitive site, a recreation building and full usage of Swartswood Lake for swimming, boating, and sailing. A large playfield, ropes course, archery course, hiking trails and a craft center are available for all campers.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Girls entering grades 1 to 12 can choose from one or all of the camps operated by GSHNJ. All girls are welcome to participate in our summer camp programs regardless of race, religion, physical ability, economic status, or national origin. Our camp program is based on the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law. GSHNJ camps provide a strong focus on Girl Scout fundamentals and in many of our programs girls will earn a Badge or portions of one.

Camp sessions run from July 5 through August 15. Hoover offers two experiences: General and Specialty.

General Camp programs are designed for girls entering grades 1-12 and provide a broad camp experience with varied activities and waterfront time daily. General Camp programs enable you to experience an array of camp activities every day.

Our Specialty Camp programs are designed for girls entering grades 3-12. Activities are grouped according to program, age, and interest level. Specialty Camp programs focus on a particular interest combined with traditional camp activities like swimming, boating, hiking, cook-outs, crafts, and games.

GSHNJ camps are a place where each and every girl can feel safe, valued and supported while making new friends and challenging themselves to try new things. Camp staff is committed to ensuring the health, safety and overall well-being of all campers. GSHNJ camps follow the program standards for health, safety and security guidelines of GSHNJ, GSUSA, ACA, and the New Jersey Youth Camp Standards.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Lifeguard Training: Spend a week at Camp Hoover learning the basics of water rescue and safety and earning the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification, as well as First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED. Note: All campers participating in this program need to be strong swimmers and demonstrate ability to complete a series of pre-course water tests including a continuous distance swim. (Ages 15+, Fee $950)

Level 1 Archery Instructor: Become a certified Level 1 Archery Instructor! This course provides the necessary tools to maintain safety both on and off the archery range, covering range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans. Level 1 Instructors are well prepared to teach beginner archery programs in both indoor and outdoor settings. Minimum age requirement is 15. Successful completion of the course (passing both written and practical exams) provides a three year certification. (Ages 15+, Fee $575)

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Family Camp is the perfect time to bring your group to Hoover and enjoy a day or two (or more!) of fun summer activities. The waterfront is fully staffed for you to go swimming, boating or just bathe in the sun. You can participate in the Challenge Course, take a hike up Hoover's hills, try your hand at archery, make arts and crafts, enjoy cookouts and much more.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp Lou Henry Hoover is available year- round for groups and families to rent our facilities. Located on 340 acres in Middleville, New Jersey, there is something for everyone at Camp Hoover! We offer three types of accommodations: heated cabins that have sleeping quarters with bunkbeds, full bathrooms, and kitchens stocked with cooking equipment; platform tent sites that have bathhouses and pavilions for shelter; and pitch-your-own-tent sites that either have a covered pavilion and bathroom facilities or a simple trough sink. Groups are invited to plan your own adventures, select all-inclusive weekends (May to June), or arrange for individual program activities for your event. CAMP FACILITIES: Rustic cabins surround the large play field and provide a cool retreat after fun in the sun. Miles of hiking trails surround the camp. Girls have the opportunity to enjoy nature and spend time in small and large group activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Day camp sessions run from July 6 - August 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, Monday through Friday, for girls entering grades K to 10. Before and after care is also available.

Girls are grouped according to age in units. Girls participate in a program theme each week along with art studio, hiking, outdoor cooking, nature, sports, games, archery (grades 2 and up), and all-camp activities. During their time at camp, girls will develop a sense of responsibility and independence in a relaxed, non-competitive setting.

Campers in grades 4 and up can opt to participate in an 1-night overnight during sessions 2,4,6.

CAMP FACILITIES: Meadowbrook offers a very wide selection of athletics, creative arts, nature, and special events as well as climbing wall and high and low ropes courses complete with a 30 foot tall zip line. Swim instruction is offered every morning and general/free swim every afternoon in our 9,000 square foot pool complex featuring 3 heated pools.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Reign operates on the spacious grounds of Toll Gate Grammar, which is located within the Hopewell Valley Regional School District.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: CAMP REIGN is a State Licensed Day Camp and accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). Accreditation is voluntary and means our camp meets over 300 standards in health and safety, which allows us to provide a greet camp environment for all campers. Our staff is highly trained and ready to make summer a memorable one for every camper.

All staff are trained in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers in addition to receiving over 25 hours of pre-camp training. Staff are selected for their maturity, special skills, entusiasim and experience. Staff are skilled and geared up to teach campers to have fun and create a safe and caring atmosphere.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 3 air conditioned gorgeous studios. Boarding for out of town Summer Intensive students is located at The Lawerenceville School in our own private accommodations in Haskell House.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: *5 week Summer Intensive June 26 thru July 28 for Intermediate/Advanced dancers ages 11 - 20. Students attend 5 days per week. This program is a full day and includes ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop and pilates/stretch. For ages 8 - 10, the Young Dancer program is a full day and is offered, your choice of 6 weeks June . These dancers will also experience ballet, jazz, modern, pilates, hip hop and stretch.

*Young Dancer Summer Intensive for ages 8+ the week of June 26 thru July 31. This is a full day 9:30 to 3:30 Monday thru Friday. The dancers will experience Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Pilates and Hip Hop. An in-studio presentation will be held each Friday afternoon.

*Lil Dancing Stars ages 3 - 4 and Dancing Stars ages 5 -7 will be held the week of Aug. 7 and Aug. 14. These are a 1/2 day programs of creative movement, share time/circle warm up, dance rehearsal and crafts.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) PROGRAM: Ages 13-15. In our CIT Program, teens have the opportunity to shadow our Day Camp leaders and develop leadership skills. While in the program, emphasis is on the development of values and leadership skills, self-esteem, goal setting, environmental awareness, camping skills and the confidence necessary to make the transition from camper to counselor. Space is limited.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: YCARES is a financial assistance program designed to establish reduced fee arrangements with individuals based on their circumstances and their demonstrated ability to pay. CAMP FACILITIES: Our New Providence facility houses large rehearsal studios, dance rooms, and lesson rooms. Our Musical Theater Camp is held at the campus of The Pingry School in Basking Ridge, where we rehearse and perform in spacious dance rooms, 2 main-stage theaters, and choir rooms. We have lunch in a large, sunny cafeteria.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Musical Theater Camp: In the morning we participate in skill-based classes in dance, acting and musical theater. After lunch there is a "wildcard" session in which we do something different each day. Past wildcards have included: master classes with Billy Elliot's (and the new film of Annie's) Stephanie Kurtzuba, master classes with film, T.V. and Broadway casting directors Paul Russell and Bobby Cline, workshop with technical director Brian Lynch, Hip-Hop Choreography, Theater Dance with Laura Chaneski, Playwriting, Poster Design, Musical Theater History and Voice Class.

The last two hours of camp is our Performance Workshop, where we will be preparing for our performance which will be held on the Friday night at the end of each session on a professional stage. Our staff boasts extensive professional credits including Broadway, Off-Broadway, National Tours, regional theater, concert stage, television, film, and commercials. One of our young campers from last summer went directly from our camp to a starring role on Broadway as Lulu in Sarah Bareilles' hit musical Waitress! She performed a number that she had learned at our camp during her Waitress audition.

The New Jersey Jazz Academy at Elefante Music hosts 2 summer camps: Elefante All-Star Jazz Ensemble Camp and Jammin' Jazz Juniors Camp. These camps are unique opportunities for experienced jazz players. Students will pick up solid skills to enhance their school ensembles Both camps culminate in a Friday night performance on the last day of camp.

Dance/Drama Intensive Camp: In Dance Intensive, students: - Learn a variety of dance styles - Improve overall technique - Take classes in: Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Musical Theater & More! - Rehearse for the Dance Performance at end of week! In Drama Intensive, students explore: - Acting/Improv Games - Character Development, Set Design & Costumes, Props - Get their own part, script and lines - Rehearse for a play to be performed at the end of the week.

At Rock Band Camp campers will play in a wide range of contemporary musical styles (rock, R&B, soul, etc.) and will learn what it's like to be "studio musicians" - artists who provide backing for bands and soloists in recording studios and in live performances. Rock camp culminates in a Friday night performance on the last day of camp.

At our NEW Percussion Camp, percussionists will work with internationally recognized guest artists and clinicians in many different percussion disciplines.

Broadway Beginners camp: children aged 3-5 enjoy a wonderful camp experience as singing, dancing, and acting is seamlessly integrated into a 1/2 day of fun!

Acting for the Camera Camp: Here's a unique and fun opportunity to study the techniques used by film, television, and commercial actors. Learn how to make the camera work for you. Each camper will receive his/her own video "reel" at the end of the camp.

Just Strings Camp is a week dedicated to violin, viola, cello, and bass players! Play fun pieces in an ensemble setting. Improve intonation and create a beautiful tone.

Jump-Start Instrumental Camp. Kids starting the first year on their school instruments will enter their school bands or orchestras confident and ready to make music!

CAMP FACILITIES: The numerous program facilities at Camp Louemma are well maintained and designed for the enjoyment of every camper. These facilities include a brand-new Olympic size, heated swimming pool with water slides, private lake, tennis and beach volleyball courts, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, softball and soccer fields, lighted hockey rink, archery range, climbing tower with zip line, gaga arena, mountain biking trails, mini-golf course, amphitheater, playground and more. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer is a very special time when a child seeks to learn, explore and develop new skills, hobbies and interests.

The Camp Louemma program is specifically designed to meet the diverse and ever-expanding recreational needs and interests of our campers. Because our emphasis is on participation, personal achievement and skill attainment rather than on competition alone, campers of every age and skill level are made to feel comfortable and successful.

Through the use of scheduled activity periods and structured electives, each camper can experience a well-rounded program that includes athletics, aquatics, creative and performing arts and outdoor adventure. Our elective program allows each camper to have direct input into their daily schedule. During elective periods campers may wish to try new activities, concentrate on their favorite ones or enhance their existing skills by participating in individualized instruction or clinics. Each activity is conducted in a supportive, encouraging manner by an experienced counselor or specialist.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: At age 15 we offer a Camper-Worker program where every other day the campers help the wait staff in our dining room. This program trains our campers for the following year when they become staff members at age 16. This program is called the WIT program (Workers In Training) where 16 and 17 year olds work as waiters and waitresses in our dining room.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We off scholarship on a case by case basis according to income and circumstance. Additionally, we offer the $1000 One Happy Camper Grant for all first time campers.

OTHER CAMP INFO: At Camp Louemma we have exciting evening activities such as luaus down at the lake, campfires, pool parties, game show nights, scavenger and treasure hunts, and DJ socials, just to name a few. We also go on several out-of-camp trips each session to places such as Action Park Water-Slide Park, Wawayanda State Park (a lake beach for sand castle building contests and swimming), mine tours, Sussex County Fair, Renaissance Fair, white water rafting, bowling and movies, as well as others.

He attended overnight and day camps as a child which were owned and operated by his family. Today Mitchell and Michelle Kessler are the proud owner / directors of Spring Lake Day Camp.

Spring Lake Day Camp has won architectural awards and has been a key contributor to the ACA and other camp associations.

Our facility has 4 spacious dance studios with sprung wood and marley floors with the state of the art sound systems.

Our lobby and dressing rooms are carpeted and comfortable.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Broadway Bound Dance Center Director/Owner Kim Helfrich is a former "Radio City Rockette" and has performed extensively throughout the U.S with National Touring Companies.

Kim also was the winner of the "Sports Business of Hunterdon County" for 1999 by the Women's Forum Chamber of Commerce.

Along with her exceptional staff you receive top quality instruction in all areas of dance. They teach you or your child the art of dance in private or group classes, for the beginner or serious-minded dancer.

An introduction to the world of ballet, students will learn basic ballet along with creative movement, stories and a dance. The Last class they will perform for you with the costumes they have created with props! Please bring a healthy snack and water.

Jazzy Bugs Show Camp
July 14, 15, 16, 17 for ages 5-7
Fee $180.00 Time 9:00-12:00

An introduction to jazz/hip hop will be taught to these beginner students. Warm-ups, isolations, dance games and creative movement. The Last class they will perform for you with costumes and a prop created by the class. Please bring a healthy snack and water.

Ballet Intensive II Workshop
August 11, 12, 13, 14 for ages 12 & up
Fee $264.00 Time 10:00-1:00

This workshop is for the serious-minded ballet dancer, ages 12 & up with 6+ year of continuous ballet training. Dance attire black leotard, pink tights, hair in bun. Bring a healthy snack and water.

Ballet Intensive I Workshop
August 18, 19, 20, 21 for ages 9-11
Fee $264.00 Time 10:00-1:00

This workshop is for the serious-minded ballet dancer, ages 9-11 with 3+ years of continuous ballet training. Dance attire; black leotard, pink tights, hair in bun. Bring a healthy snack and water.

The 4-day workshop will cover all areas of ballet class including center barre, floor barre, center adagio, petite and grand allegro, turns & turning combinations. It will include bits of dance history, body awareness/alignment and core stretch techniques. Ms. Kristin is the Assistant Director of the Force Dance Company and a certified teacher with a Bachelor’s
